Rings

The game of rings is not particularly well-known but has been popular both as a children's game and as a pub game - particularly in Ireland. When in any doubt, the rules played by the locals should always apply.

how to play

The goal of Rings is to score the most points by landing rings on the hooks.

Setup:

1. Players use a ringboard with 13 hooks, each marked with different point values.

2. Each player has six rubber rings.

Gameplay:

1. Players take turns throwing their rings from behind a designated line (typically 8 feet away).

2. Rings are thrown overhand or underhand to land on the hooks.

3. Points are scored based on the hooks the rings land on.

Winning:

The first player to reach the agreed target score (commonly 150, 200, or 300 points) wins the game. If a player lands exactly on their target score and hooks four rings on the number 1 hook, they win.
